ZCM1100 – Safety Guard Tape Dispenser by START International: Maximum Safety Without Productivity Loss
In modern production environments, workplace safety is not optional — it is a legal and operational obligation. START International engineered the ZCM1100 to eliminate this risk by design: the active safety guard cutting head renders the machine physically inoperable whenever fingers, tools, or any other foreign objects are present in the cutting zone — without affecting precision, throughput, or operator convenience in any way.
Active Safety Guard – Physical Protection, Not Just a Signal
The safety guard of the ZCM1100 is not a passive warning indicator or an audible alarm — it is an active mechanical safety system that physically prevents the cutting cycle from being initiated as long as the cutting area is obstructed. The machine becomes inoperable. Only once the zone is clear can the next cut be triggered — whether via photocell or push-button. This principle protects reliably even when operators are distracted, new to the role, or working under time pressure.
No Compromise on Throughput or Accuracy
The safety guard function imposes no penalty on cycle time or cut quality. The ZCM1100 processes tape widths from 7 to 51 mm at cut lengths from 30 to 999 mm with a repeatability of ±1 mm. The integrated photocell detects tape removal and automatically positions the next piece. The cut length is programmed once on the digital LED panel and stored permanently in memory. Manual push-button actuation is available at all times.

The ZCM1100 shares all the strengths of the ZCM1000 family: steel frame, antistatic and flame-retardant composite housing (auto-ignition temperature: 480 °C), 3-in-1 core holder (25 / 35 / 76 mm), blade life up to 200,000 cuts, and adjustable pressure roller for varying tape thicknesses. For the European market, the ZCM1100-2 (230 V / 50 Hz, CE certified) is the standard supply version. For applications requiring safety guard plus multiple programmable length memories, the ZCM2200 is available.
