Glass cloth and flimsy tapes
Soft cloth tapes that crease or wander in a standard unit
Glass cloth tapes insulate motors, transformers and wire harnesses at high temperatures. The cloth is soft and gives in width. In a standard dispenser it creases easily or runs crooked to the blade.
The challenge
- The soft tape bunches up in the feed and creases.
- Without guidance the tape runs at an angle and the cut is skewed.
- Loose fibres appear at the cut edge if the blade does not separate cleanly.
How the dispenser solves it
The ZCM1000C guides soft and flimsy tapes so they reach the blade straight, for widths up to 51 mm and lengths up to 999 mm. For wider cloth and fleece tapes with strong adhesive, the TDA080-NS is an option, ideally after a material test.
