VHB™ and foam tapes
High-bond mounting tapes with foam or acrylic core
VHB™, ACX and other double-sided foam tapes replace screws, rivets and spot welds. They are thick, soft and extremely tacky on both sides. That is exactly what makes them difficult for a normal dispenser.
The challenge
- The exposed adhesive at the cut edges sticks to feed rollers and blade; the unit clogs after a few metres.
- Too much pressure squeezes the soft core and lengths vary.
- The tape stretches during cutting if blade and feed are not matched.
How the dispenser solves it
The NS versions have feed rollers with a non-stick coating. The TDA080-NS handles foam up to 3 mm and VHB™ up to 1.5 mm thick, the TDA150-NS the same up to 150 mm wide. For narrow tapes up to 51 mm the ZCM1000-NS is sufficient; with liner removal there is the TDA080-NS-LR.
